Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) carried out a candle march for the second day today in Maloya against the murder of democracy in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections.
During the candle march, Chairman Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and co-in-charge AAP Chandigarh Dr SS Ahluwalia, Councillor Manowar, senior leaders Meena Sharma, Gurdev Yadav, Rajesh Chaudhary, Dinesh Paswan, Pankaj Yadav, Mrs Geeta Devi, Desraj, Sunny Bairwa and large number of volunteers and Chandigarh residents participated.
Dr. SS Ahluwalia said that the people of Chandigarh will not sit silent until those who murdered democracy in the Municipal Corporation elections on January 30 are punished and added that BJP nominated councilor and presiding officer Anil Masih is not the only one guilty of murdering democracy in the Municipal Corporation Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections.
Dr. SS Ahluwalia said along with him, all the BJP Councillors, MP Kirron Kher and the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh are also guilty. It is pertinent to mention here that all this has been done as per a pre-planned conspiracy. When the counting of votes was in process the Deputy Commissioner got up and went out of the voting hall which clearly shows that the Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh is also involved in this conspiracy.
Dr. SS Ahluwalia said that the way 8 votes of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress mayor candidate Kuldeep Kumar have been rejected, it is not the work of Anil Masih alone. BJP has done this work by preparing the entire team. On the day of voting, every BJP councilor was assigned duty at different places in the voting hall, who had to remove the cameras of Anil Masih and which councilor had to make noise to attract the attention of Congress and AAP councilors.
The main aim was that presiding officer Anil Masih can easily cancel 8 votes under the conspiracy and make BJP’s mayor candidate win. Dr. Ahluwalia said that now the whole reality is in front of the people through videos and cameras. People of Chandigarh are very angry over the murder of democracy by BJP because the city residents want a mayor of Aam Aadmi Party in the Municipal Corporation and the overall development of the city.
He further said that the hunger strike of Aam Aadmi Party continued today for the fourth day today in front of the Municipal Corporation office located in Sector 17 to punish those who murdered democracy. AAP councilors Jasveer Singh Ladi, Sunil Tank, Veeru Singh, Kulwinder Yadav and Roshan Rawat sat on hunger strike today. In this hunger strike, Dr. SS Ahluwalia, Meena Sharma, Abha Bansal, Councilor Prem Lata, Damanpreet Singh, Jaswinder Kaur, Suman Sharma, Yogesh Dhingra, Manowar, Neha Musawat, Ram Chandra Yadav, Kuldeep Kumar and a large number of volunteers also participated.
