Chandigarh’s four half tons went in vain as team faced six-wicket defeat from Uttarakhand

 

Chandigarh: Despite scoring four half-centuries in the innings, Chandigarh failed to defend its score of 305 which resulted in a six wicket defeat from Uttarakhand at the ongoing  Vijay Hazare Trophy League match played at Ahmedabad on Thursday. Uttarakhand won the toss and invited Chandigarh to bat first. Top order – Arslan Khan (54), skipper Manan Vohra (50), Ankit Kaushik (60) and Bhagminder Lather (66) gave a strong base to the team and scored 305/8 runs in the stipulated fifty overs. In retaliation, equally four half-centuries were scored by the opposition from Yuvraj Chaudhary (58), Avnish Sudha (60), D Negi (64) and unbeaten Ankit Tare (69) as their target was achieved in the 48th over.

Chandigarh’s next match is against Karnataka on December 1.
