FAP National Awards given to 179 Schools, 153 Principals and 55 Teachers on the first day

Dr. Kiran Bedi gives Pride of India awards to 107 Meritorious Students during FAP National Awards 2023

Chandigarh: “FAP National Awards constituted by Federation of Associations of Punjab and Chandigarh University Gharuan has today become a revolution. It has become a unique platform to recognize the talent, merit and excellence not only in Punjab but all-over India.

Teachers and Schools play a crucial role in shaping the careers of our youth which in future are going to become the future of our Nation” said Dr. Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. She was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the 3rd FAP National Awards 2023 at the campus of Chandigarh University.

Sonal Goel (IAS) Resident Commissioner Tripura Bhawan, New Delhi and Neha Tanwar former member of the Indian Women Cricket Team were also present on the first day of the FAP National Awards 2023. FAP National Awards constituted by Federation of Associations of Punjab and Chandigarh University are given every year to the Best Schools, Best Teachers, Best Principals and Best Students from the private schools all over India.

A total of 607 awards were given on the first day of FAP National Awards 2023 which included 179 Schools in the Best Schools National Award Category, while 153 principals were honored in the best Principal Award Category and 55 teachers were honored with Best Teachers National Award Category.

In the students category, 107 students were honored with Pride of India Award for their academic achievements while 113 students were honored with Sports Achievement Award for showcasing their excellence in various sports at National Level.

While delivering her address, Dr. Kiran Bedi said, “Youth have to contribute big time and make Punjab No.1 State once again in every domain. Today, it is painful to see that Punjab is under debt, which rising every year, and hence we all have to join hands and work to make a Punjab which becomes a leading state in Industry, Sports, Education, Development, Welfare of its citizens”. We should make a 5-year plan and all the stakeholders such as Industry, Farmers, Youth, Institutions and Government should systematically work to achieve the goals which will help make Punjab a prosperous and developed state of India, added Dr. Bedi.

She further added that, “It is good to see that many schools who are doing exemplary work in academics, sports are being honored today but I urge the organizers to honor some schools who are contributing big time in empowering the girls, those who are contributing in protection of environment, those who are channelizing the energies of youth in sports and education so that they stay away from drugs, those schools, students or teachers who are helping farmers community or practicing farming”.

President FAP, Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, said that at FAP, we believe in honouring those who push boundaries, redefine norms and inspire others through their exceptional work. “These awards are a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence that our nominees and winners embody. They represent the pinnacle of creativity, innovation, and dedication in their respective fields. And, we are thrilled to highlight and honour the exceptional contributions of educators, institutions, and programs that are redefining educational standards and inspiring the next generation. The federation is looking forward to continue working towards recognizing the efforts of private schools, teachers, principals, and students towards nation’s progress, and inspire them to continue contributing in it.”

Extending heartfelt congratulations to the recipients of the FAP awards, Chandigarh University Pro-Chancellor, Dr. (Prof.) R.S Bawa, said, “Education forms the cornerstone of societal progress and transformation, and it is an honour and privilege for me to be present on this occasion. FAP awards stand as a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of educators, institutions, and innovative programs that shape the landscape of school education. It is with immense pride that we witness the celebration of excellence in pedagogy, leadership, curriculum development, and student empowerment through these prestigious accolades.”

Sonal Goel (IAS), Resident Commissioner of Tripura Bhawan, New Delhi, said, “As a young citizen of India empowered with technology, innovation, love, and passion for the country, I realize that having a small aim is a crime, so we definitely cannot afford to have a small aim. This is where the role of educators is of extreme significance, and FAP is doing a meticulous work of acknowledging and recognizing private schools, principals, teachers, and students for their contribution and achievements in the education sector. These awards are not just a reward of appreciation but reinforcement of capabilities, commitment, and a renewed vigour of being recognized.”

She added, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has time and again promoted India’s 3D’s – Demography, Democracy, and Diversity as significant factors to achieve the dream of a Developed India by 2047 (Amrit Kaal). It is the youth of the country who have a major role to play in the growth story of the country, contributing towards realizing this dream. This year, India proudly hosted the G20 Summit in New Delhi, which unified the nations with the ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ theme, which is inspired from India’s ages old ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ principle and underlined the importance of collaboration. Similar collaboration is needed in the education sector, where private schools are equal partners.”
