The disciplined bowling by Chiragveer and Paras put down Jharkhand by 41 runs

Chandigarh: A discipline bowling attack led by Chiragvir Singh Dhindsa (4/36) and Paras(3/45) helped UT boys to manage for defending their 258 runs against Jharkhand resulting 41 runs win at the ongoing BCCI Under-23 ODI tournament being played at Rajkot on Sunday.

Chandigarh won the toss and decided to bat first and the team fumbled at 95/3 in the 19th over. Harnoor Singh and Akshit Rana stiched a partnership of 79 runs for the fourth wicket and steered the score to 174. Team faltered once again as four wickets lost in just 31 runs with 205/7 on the board in the 41st over. Nipun Sharda (38) held the fort with the tailenders and Chandigarh managed 258. Manishi took maximum three wickets while Sahil Raj and Harsh Raj took two wickets each. In reply, Chiragveer Dhindsa wrecked the top order with 42/3. A fine ton from Sharandeep Singh (102) and a half century from skipper Sahil Raj (50) failed to bring the team home as Jharkhand was bundled out for 217.

Chandigarh’s next match is against Vidarbha on November 7.
