STGI’s 24-hour hackathon and American Express session on “Turning Numbers into Innovation” organised by CDGC

STGI, the pioneering technology company, recently orchestrated an exceptional 24-hour hackathon exclusively designed for third-year students. This event seamlessly merged skill development with promising career prospects, leaving an indelible mark on the participants.Commencing on October 15that the PEC Campus, the hackathon set the stage for an exhilarating journey, where students tackled real-time, industry-relevant problems. The event not only fostered a competitive spirit but also encouraged innovation, with STGI generously offering cash prizes to motivate the students.The grand finale unfolded on October 17that the PEC Auditorium, graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr. Poonam Saini, the Prof Incharge of CDGC, and Mr. Vishal, CEO of the Summit Technology Group.

The competition was fierce, but the winning team, ‘REGEX,’ emerged victorious, securing an impressive cash reward of 50,000. The second-place team, ‘MAANG,’ showcased their remarkable talents and walked away with a commendable prize of 30,000. The third position was claimed by ‘WANG SHA SHUN,’ who were awarded a substantial prize of 20,000 for their outstanding performance.STGI also extended its appreciation to ‘INNOVA8ORS’ and ‘BITBYBIT,’ recognizing their impressive efforts and contributions to the hackathon with a significant prize of 5,000 each.Beyond the thrill of competition, this event served as a gateway for these talented students to potentially secure full-time positions at STGI. It perfectly aligns with the institution’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of tech professionals.

Following this, on October 17th, another exciting session was organised exclusively for the second-year B.Tech CSE (Data Science) students led by Dr. Sachin Gulati, Head of India Campus Recruitment at American Express, a global leader in the financial services industry. The session titled “Alchemy: Turning Numbers into Innovation,” was organised in CDGC Seminar Hall at Punjab Engineering College.Dr. Sachin Gulati, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data science, analytics, and recruitment, lead the session. He drew from his rich career experiences to underscore the vital role that data-driven decision-making plays in fostering innovation. Dr. Gulati’s insights inspired and equipped students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the dynamic field of data science. The accompanying team of AmeXexplored the practical applications of data science and innovation within the financial services sector. They shared real-world examples and insights, offering students a glimpse into the industry’s ongoing evolution.All the students of the second-year data science branch attended this enlightening session and gained valuable insights from the experts at American Express.
