Addressing the gathering, Mann said the state had ended the era when government jobs were allegedly secured through political influence and money. “For decades, deserving youth were deprived of opportunities because jobs were distributed through recommendations and money power. We have completely changed this system. Today, appointments are being made purely on merit and eligibility,” he said.
The Chief Minister claimed that the transparent recruitment process had restored young people’s faith in government jobs and helped reverse the trend of migration. “Earlier, many young people left Punjab in search of employment. Today, they are returning because they know hard work and talent are enough to secure a government job,” he said.
Highlighting the latest recruitment drive, Mann said appointment letters were issued to 178 Medical Officers, 99 Staff Nurses, 124 Multi-Purpose Health Workers (Male), 64 Multi-Purpose Health Workers (Female), 24 Dental Teaching Faculty members, 23 Ayurvedic Teaching Faculty members, besides clerical and support staff.
Referring to recruitment reforms, he asserted that no examination paper had leaked in Punjab during the last four-and-a-half years. “Across the country, examination controversies have shattered the dreams of lakhs of youth. In Punjab, not a single examination paper has leaked during our tenure. We have ensured transparency, accountability and fairness in the recruitment system,” Mann said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s healthcare initiatives, stating that 990 Aam Aadmi Clinics have recorded over 5.54 crore OPD visits, with nearly 84,000 patients receiving treatment daily. He said more than 90 per cent of patients receive medicines free of cost, while around 97 per cent have expressed satisfaction with the services.

Mann further said the state has launched the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign against drugs and expanded healthcare coverage through the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, which provides cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh annually for every family through a network of around 900 government and empanelled private hospitals.

“Every penny of the state exchequer is being spent for public welfare. Our government is committed to making Punjab a leader in education, healthcare, employment generation and development,” he said.
Cabinet Minister Balbir Singh and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
