Mohali to become the largest medical hub in the country: Sunny Ahluwalia
Major medical groups of the country preparing for large investments in Mohali to provide world-class medical facilities to the people of Punjab
DPB, Mohali, February 12 : Another major milestone is set to be achieved in the development journey of Punjab, as Mohali is rapidly moving towards becoming the largest medical hub in the country. Leading and reputed medical groups of the country have announced the establishment of world-class hospitals in Mohali, which will enable the people of Punjab to access high-quality healthcare facilities within their own state. This information was shared by Aam Aadmi Party Punjab General Secretary and Chairman of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Dr. Sunny Singh Ahluwalia.
Dr. Sunny Singh Ahluwalia said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, the positive environment created by the Punjab Government for development and investment has encouraged major medical groups across the country to come forward and invest in Mohali. He said that the primary objective of the government is to provide world-class healthcare facilities to the people of Punjab, and continuous efforts are being made in this direction.
He further stated that Mohali’s geographical location, modern infrastructure, excellent connectivity, and investor-friendly environment make it one of the best destinations for medical investments. Additionally, Mohali’s rapidly developing health and education sectors are also attracting major medical groups.
Dr. Ahluwalia further informed that Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. T.S. Kler has also proposed setting up a world-class hospital in Mohali. He said that the government is fully committed to taking this project forward and it will be implemented in the coming time, which will provide advanced medical facilities, including cardiac care, to the people of Mohali.
He added that earlier, the renowned Apollo Group has already started construction of a large hospital in Aerocity, Mohali. Once operational, this hospital will benefit not only the people of Mohali but also residents of Punjab and neighboring states by providing high-quality healthcare services. Along with this, the Elite Group is also constructing a large multi-specialty hospital in Aerocity, and the construction work is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed soon.
Dr. Ahluwalia said that these projects will not only strengthen healthcare facilities but will also generate new employment opportunities. The establishment of large hospitals will create a significant number of jobs for doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and other healthcare workers, which will further strengthen Punjab’s economy.
He said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, has taken several historic decisions to strengthen the healthcare sector, and major developments are expected in this sector in the coming years. He expressed confidence that in the near future, Mohali will emerge as the largest medical hub in the country.
