The Group of Ministers led by Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, and comprising Social Justice Empowerment & Minorities Minister Sadhu Singh Dharmsot and Rural Development & Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, interacting with the Confederation of Colleges & Schools of Punjab as part of the consultations initiated with the stakeholders for the smooth implementation of the Post Matric SC Scholarship scheme. Sh. Ashwani Sekhri, Chairman of the Federation, highlighted some legacy issues, which the Group of Ministers assured to examine and resolve amicably. The Confederation further stated that it was principally against withholding the roll numbers of any SC student for any reason whatsoever, as it was against the interest of the Student. The officers of the Punjab Government apprised the house that Punjab was the first state in the country to release the Post Matric SC Scholarship amount to the students for the academic year 2020-21.The meeting was held at Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh today.
